A Passion for BHS, Started as a Student Teacher at Bennett, has Led Mr. Alvarez Back to Lead Lewis J. Bennett High School.
I have the great fortune and opportunity to rejoin the Bennett family, as principal of Lewis J. Bennett High School. I am truly excited to continue the work with our school community to build upon the rich tradition of Bennett. I have been a member of the Bennett family through the years as a student teacher, teacher, team leader, assistant principal and now principal.
Our school vision is The Lewis J Bennett High School of Innovative Technology is committed to become one of the top choices for students in the BPS District. We will support the foundation of this community of learners by encouraging the critical thinking, technological and leadership skills necessary for our students to become self-directed learners who are prepared for higher education and careers. Our stakeholders — administrators, teachers, students, families, alumni and community members – will hold each other accountable, challenge ourselves to become better and advocate for the greater good of our technological school community.
As we lead Lewis J. Bennett High School to new levels of success, we will focus on increasing parent and community engagement, implementing innovative technologies relating to data driven instruction and providing rigorous and relevant literacy professional development aligned to the Superintendents New Education Bargain.
