It is with Delight that I wish you Happy New Year!
First, I need to say thanks for all of your help. Your Alumni Board has approved almost $10,000 in Mini-Grants for our Bennett students! For those who haven’t heard of Mini-Grants, these gifts of up to $500 are for teachers and administrators to conduct specific educational and extra-curricular projects that aren’t funded by the Board of Education. We are so proud of the ways all of us are able to respond to to the needs of our Bennett students. There is a listing of all Mini-Grant projects on page 3.
Last September, we held our Annual Meeting and Election of Board Members. As we had several of our most dedicated directors decide not to be on the Board again (for various reasons), we are looking for new directors to fill these slots. Our Alumni Board meets each month on the fourth Wednesday at 12:15 pm in the Alumni Room at Bennett. We use this time looking for ways to improve the education and daily life of Bennett students. There are currently three vacancies, and we would love to hear from you. If you would like to serve on a committee or on the Board, please leave a message at the school, and we will get back to you! We offer our sincere thanks to Jennie DePerro Brummer, retired faculty, and Bobbie Allbert Dayer, ’53 for their countless hours of work to make, not only our Board better, but also the Bennett community stronger. Each will continue to help in her own way!! A Tiger Roar to you both!!! We are so grateful for all you have done.
