Why an Endowment
The Bennett Alumni Endowment Fund was initiated by the Alumni Board to establish financial support for Bennett in future. Right now, many active alumni generously provide funds and specialized expertise that help close the gap between the cost of a quality high school education and the funds available to urban public schools. This might not always be the case and the Endowment Fund will be there in perpetuity to ensure support for new generations of Bennett students. Alumni annual dues and other generous donations greatly enhance the academic, cultural, athletic and extra-curricular student programs each year. We are grateful, but not surprised, by the generous response we have received in just the first year. Our contributions to the Endowment Fund stand at approximately $92,000.

We are especially grateful to our Founder Circle Donors
The Bennett Alumni Association, Inc is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization formed by a group of dedicated alumni and staff. The Endowment Fund is a unique way for alumni and friends of Bennett to make tax deductible charitable contributions that will support public school students for generations to come. Because only the income earned on the fund is dispersed each year, the principle is preserved in perpetuity. Funds are administered by the Alumni Association Board of Directors. The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo (CFGB) invests and manages the fund. By partnering with the CFGB we ensure the sound management of charitable assets and deep knowledge of our Western New York Community.

Our Founders’ Circle Gala and unveiling of the tribute display in the foyer took place from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on September 29, 2023 at Bennett High School, 2885 Main Street.
